about
My name is Matt Sepeta and I am a Minneapolis-based photographer specializing in weddings.
I have been taking photos for 10 years now. As a product of the 90′s, I grew up experiencing the mind-blowing advancements in digital imaging. I first got my hands on my parents digital camera around age 14 to take pictures of my friends skateboarding, snowboarding, and being generally reckless. From there I began to carry a camera with me everywhere. I began documenting live music, events, and other spontaneous happenings.
To this very day I still find myself taking photos of the same friends doing the same reckless things.

This experience with spontaneous, action-oriented photography has influenced my approach to photography in a very positive way. Just as I can not ask the band front-man to replay a song at a live show, there are no re-dos in life.
I have extensive experience in every kind of professional photography
• Live Music – I might as well be American Scarecrows official photographer!
• Events – Political, church, performance, etc…
• Sports – Snowboarding, skateboarding, I was even covering Red Bull Crashed Ice!
• Portraits – Corporate headshots, environment portraits, etc…
• Commercial – Interiors, exteriors, products, etc…
• Weddings – About 50 in the past two years, featured in Minneapolis Saint Paul Magazine and other publications.
I work with professional Canon camera bodies (5D Mark II) and various professional fast prime lenses helping me capture any possible situation. I have backups of everything and an extensive off-camera light system to help illuminate even the darkest environments.
That’s enough of the *boring* stuff, now onto the real meat! I love Wes Anderson movies and the X-Files. I am a huge Fleetwood Mac fan. I still love snowboarding even though it makes me feel like I’m 60. I’m a Surly drinker. I have a cat named Nick, after Nicholas Cage, the weird actor. My favorite temperature is probably 55 degrees. Mountain Dew is always better from a can. Broccoli is my favorite “good” food. I have lived in Texas, Montana, Utah, Indiana, Washington DC, St. Louis, and Minnesota.
If there is anything in particular you want to know, shoot me a message!
